Last spring, one of my favourite designer launched a new sweater pattern and I completely fell in love with the design. So I decided to knit it, I finished knitting this sweater at the beginning of summer and it’s finally the season to share it with you!
This sweater has everything I am looking for in a sweater: it’s loose fitting, it has beautiful raglan increases, it has the nicest turtle neck and I love the stitch! On top of that, it’s from my favourite designer My Favourite Things Knitwear. I just HAD to knit it.
Pattern is well written and it even has links to video’s for the tricky bits. The pattern includes size XS to XXL. Like I said, I really like this designer and I already used two of her pattern before: camisole no.4 and veste no.3 spring edition.
It was really tricky to find the right yarn that was not going to cost 200$ :). The sweater is knitted with a strand of mohair which makes it very fluffy but makes the prize very high. I ended up going to Biscottes yarns and the employee helped me find a yarn that is a little bigger so I could get the right gauge without a mohair strand. I end it up going with the Drops Air and it is very light and fluffy so it still gave the look of mohair.
Here are the details:
I made the size XS and made no adjustment. The sweater stretched a lot when I blocked it so the sleeves and the body are a little longer than expected, but I stil really like it.
I used:
- 7 skeins of Drops Air that I bought at Biscottes yarns
- Sweater no.13 by My Favourite Things Knitwear
- 5mm circular needles with a 40cm and 80cm long cable
